OCTOBER 2018 EVENTs and classes
Knit Night at Iconik, Thursday, October 4th, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Iconik Coffee Roasters on Lena Street. Join us for stitching camaraderie and delicious food and drink. Bring your current project(s) at the community table. Nothing too complicated—it’s easy to get distracted. A designated knitter will be provided. We will, as always, provide stitching camaraderie and a Designated Knitter.
Reading Your Knitting, Fixing Your Mistakes Monday, October 8th, 11:30 to 2:30pm $35
Finding and fixing mistakes is an art form in itself. Learn some basic rescue techniques for your knitting: picking up dropped stitches or correcting reversed stitches; knitting backwards (or “tinking”); inserting a lifeline; and ripping back (“frogging”). These techniques can save the day when you make a mistake. Materials/Class Prep: come to class with a 6” x 4” swatch on your needles, worsted-weight or heavier, a size F, G or H crochet hook, and a circular needle one or two sizes smaller than the one on your swatch; also handy are locking stitch markers, a tapestry needle, and some waste yarn.
