August 2018 EVENTS

 

Knit Night at Iconik, Thursday, August 2nd, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Iconik Coffee Roasters on Lena Street, Bring your knit or crochet project and join us for some social stitching. Iconik offers coffees, teas, beers, and delicious meals and snacks! We will provide stitching camaraderie and a Designated Knitter. 



Knitting 101: Learn to Knit
Mondays, August 20th and 27th
11:30 to 1:30 p.m. $45 (two sessions)
 
Learn to hold yarn and needles, cast on, and knit, purl, and bind off. You will also learn how to read yarn labels and other elementary knitting information. You will leave class ready to embark on a simple scarf. Materials needed: one skein of worsted weight yarn in a light, solid color; US8 needles. No experience necessary. (You will receive a 10% discount on yarn and needles purchased at Yarn & Coffee.)

Private Instruction

Yarn & Coffee offers individual instruction or consultation for $20 an hour. Learn to knit or crochet, or bring a project that requires a little focused help, or a design tweak.

Wednesdays    3:00 to 5:00 

Yarn & Coffee is a provider for the Knitted Knockers organization (knittedknockers.org). Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Volunteer knitters and crocheters provide them free to those requesting them.
