March Classes and Events
Thursday, March 2nd, 5:30 to 7:30 (or so)… at HQ Santa Fe, 411B Water Street
Join us for beer, champagne, or coffee, and snacks (one of Santa Fe’s local food trucks is stationed outside). We’ll get our knit and crochet on and enjoy this local venue! (A Designated Knitter will be provided.)
Toe-Up Socks $60 Fridays, March 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
If you missed the Jan/Feb Toe-Up Sock Class, here’s your chance to join the fun. We’re starting another round! Socks are the perfect portable project, and, since they are a relatively small project, there is the added benefit of quick completion. Each week the class will work on a different component of the socks, and by the end of the class each student will have one completed sock (provided you do the homework). Materials Needed: Two pair of 24” circular needles, size US2; 350 to 400 yards of sock yarn.
Crochet 101$35 Saturday, March 18th, 1 to 4 p.m.
In this class you will learn how to hold yarn and hook and learn the four basic crochet stitches that are the foundation for all crochet. The class will cover chain, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch, plus how to turn your work, how to count your stitches, and the basics of reading patterns. You will leave class with a finished square--or the beginning of a scarf, if you’re fast and ambitious. Materials needed: one skein of worsted weight yarn in a light, solid color; size H/8 hook. No experience necessary.
Yarn & Coffee offers individual instruction or consultation for $20 an hour. Learn to knit or crochet, or bring a project that requires a little focused help, or a design tweak.
